Key field supports name for the data kiosk offer email

In the 3.98 release, you have the ability to use a name key field for the offer email. Previously, the only key field available was the [CustomerName] but this shows as Last, First. Now you have the ability to have a customer name display as First, Last or just First on the email sent from their data kiosk.

 

To set up your data kiosk to send the new first name key field

Note: When you set up your kiosk to collect information, the email template selected in step 8 in the topic: How to set up a kiosk to gather customer data must be completed. See that topic and step and make sure you have noted the email template in the Email Offering Code. The default is: Data Collection Offering Template.

 

1. Go to the Email module. Click the Email icon or select Go to from the top-menu bar and select Email.

2. Select the Template button at the top of the screen. The list of templates display.

3. Select  one of  the data collection offering templates, the two defaults are:

• Data Collection Offering Template Barcode Notify

• Data Collection Offering Template

  Note: The two templates listed are the defaults; however, you can use any template you desire.

4. Once the template displays, select the Key fields button in the middle of the screen. The key fields display to the top right of the screen.

5. Scroll down and find [FIRST] in the list, then click and drag it to the letter template, for example in the greeting after the word Dear.

6. Delete the [EMAIL] key field that was following Dear.

7. Select Save and Close. The next time an email is sent the changes will take place.
